Video: Jason McCook makes smoothies business his Main Squeeze

“One of the things I’ve always wanted to do was to create and dream,” says marketer turned entrepreneur, Jason McCook.

It was that attitude, coupled with seeing a demand for naturally blended juices, which led the Jamaica College old boy to set up his business, ‘Main Squeeze’.

Main Squeeze applies the quick-service, food truck concept, except that it sells juices, rather than food. Among the beverages offered are protein shakes, milkshakes, smoothies and pressed juices.

Since setting up shop on Knutstford Boulevard in New Kingston last November, McCook says Main Squeeze has surpassed his expectations, with heavy traffic from varying customers in the busy business district.

Apart from the now trendy concept among Jamaicans to seek out healthy alternatives, McCook believes the application of his marketing skills through the general presentation of the truck has contributed to the customner interest.

“People overall, the taxi men, the security officers, bankers, call centre workers, everybody, from whichever walks of life, are into the healthy options,” McCook told Young People in Business.

He has plans to take Main Squeeze to other parishes, and one day, to set up a store front.

But in the meantime, he is testing new flavours, including Jamaican blends, to put to market as early as this summer.

Ninja Man Blasts Alkaline, Masicka’s Gun Touting Videos

Ninja Man is not here for Alkaline and Masicka’s recent gun touting music videos.

The veteran entertainer has blasted his fellow Dancehall acts Alkaline and Masicka for their use of props which bear striking resemblances to actual guns in their recent music videos.

According to the iconic deejay, artists should desist from using these images in their music videos as it paints negative picture of the music industry, and undermines the efforts of others who rally against crime and violence.

The controversial deejay, who is himself before the courts on a murder charge made specific reference to the unwanted police attention gained by Alkaline’s “After All” and Masicka’s “Infrared” music videos.

Last week cops launched an investigation into Alkaline’s controversial “After All” music video, following the unauthorized appearance of several police officers and marked vehicles.

The veteran deejay was quick to question Alkaline’s actions considering the scrutiny he faced following his detention in relation to a murder earlier this year.

According to Ninja Man, many of these artist need to study the law, because whether these “props” are real or fake weapons they are still deemed as illegal under the definition of the law, and artist could soon find themselves in big trouble.

VIDEO: Canadian woman demands ‘white doctor’ for her son

Video of a woman demanding a “white doctor” for her son at a Mississauga, Ontario clinic has gone viral, reports CTV Toronto.

The video, which was recorded by a witness and posted online, shows the woman repeatedly demanding to see a white doctor in a four-minute argument with staff and patients at the clinic.

“I would like to see a white doctor,” the woman says to a member of the clinic staff in the waiting room, as her son sits quietly next to her.

She adds that she wanted him to be seen by someone who “doesn’t have brown teeth” and “speaks English”.

The woman becomes more agitated as the four-minute video progresses, eventually approaching the desk to repeat her demands for a white doctor.

“Oh my God, what type of horrible country do I live in?” she says in the video. “Being a white person in this country, I should just shoot myself.”

Later in the video, she insists that her son be seen by a Canadian doctor.
